THE WEDNESDAY EVENING POST FOR JANUARY 23, 2013

Hey All!

How the heck are ya???  Come on, get in here and come in out of that cold.  I have a fresh pot of coffee on, want some?  Have a seat, it's always good to see you here.  You know how much I love having you drop by.

I hope this post finds you all well and happy.  I have worked on a few cards this week, so I do have a few things to show you.  Wanna see 'em?  OK!

I was browsing all the newly uploaded cards and I found one that I just had to case!  Here is the card I saw.  I happened to have stamps that were almost identical and I also had a background stamp with writing.  I changed several things like the color (I'm not fond of lavender), changed where the sentiment went, added a porcelain brad in the center and changed where the butterfly was.  I really like the cut panel look.  I made this for my Mom's best friend's birthday.

I've always wanted to try a "wiper" card and have so many floating in my head that I want to make.  This one became reality:
This is one of my most favorite Gruffies stamps.  I colored it with my colored pencils and oms.  I pictured in my head the musical notes coming up on the wiper when you pull the card.  You can find the tutorial on SCS HERE.  You will be seeing more of these in the future.  You know how much I love interactive cards and these are really very easy to make!

My last card for this post is one that I made after watching a video on Gina K. Designs Stamp TV website.  You can find the video HERE.
You have to click on the photo to really see that the penguin's scarf is paper pieced to match the plaid background paper.  Gina's card uses a snowman and her flourishes are made using a die.  Since I had no snowman stamp the right size I chose my little penguin, and I stamped the flourishes.  I also went over them with a silver glitter pen which gives them lots of sparkle not seen in the photo.  If you've not seen Gina's videos, you really should.  She is really professional and produces great stuff.

Pic of the Week
FOOTPRINTS
I love this photo, but it always makes me sad when I look at it.  These footprints/paw prints are mine and my boys'.  Shotsy's are the far left prints, Gunther's are in the middle, and then of course the right side prints are mine.  It makes me sad I think because it is one of those photos that makes you realize that whomever was there is no longer there and the footprints are but a memory captured for a brief moment.

OK enough of that. . .I hope you've enjoyed your visit as much as I enjoyed having you here.  I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week.  I look forward to popping in on you in the next several days to see what you've been up to.

Love you guys!

Curt

Hi Curt, love your elegant first card. Reminds me of looking out a window. The wiper card is wonderful, you should enter it in the current HMFMC, the theme is new beginnings, and learning to play the piano is a new beginning, and the girls would all love to see it. Your little penguin is so cute too.
Really cold here too, staying in when we can and enjoying the fact that we don't have to go out if we don't to. Enjoy the rest of the week. Love the picture of the footprints......
Hugs

Great cards, as usual! I really love the first card- I think I'll have to dig out my Stampendous Agapanthus stamp and have a go at it.

I'm embarrassed to say that it's been over a month since I blogged - time for me to get my act together!

Hope all is well in your world - stay warm! It's c-c-c-cold here in Chicago!

You've a busy boy, Mr. Curt ... great creations. Make sure that when I come to stay for a month with you this summer, that you keep all of these cards aside so I can see them in person.

And don't be sad about the footprints in the snow but rather be happy that you shared that time in time with your boys and have a photo to remember it by.

Hugs to all and an extra little one to Shotsy.

Such wonderful cards this week, Curt! The tile card is gorgeous, and the wiper card is too cute! But what I love the most about this week's post is the photograph. What a poignant reminder of the beautiful relationship that exists between you and your boys! I would have it enlarged and framed for sure. Enjoy the rest of your week...

Love the first card! What?!?!? You are not fond of lavender??? It is my favorite color! Actually, I love any shade of purple. I have never tried a wiper card. Yours is absolutely adorable. That image is so cute. Paper piecing is tedious, but fun. I wish you a great week with lots of crafting time :)

Hi Curt! Your art is wonderful this week! I love the Gruffies one with the music notes - very clever!! What I saw in your photo were three sets of footprints made by creatures who obviously love each other very much. See how the track together? A little curve for one is a curve for all three! A sweet reminder in the snow . . .
Hugs!

Its weird to see the footprints in the snow when we are really melting in the heat over here. I find it beautiful and nor sad at all, more like proof that you were there in the first place and you were not alone, you had somebody to share that walk with.
Love all your cards. I really love Gina's videos and her stamps and papers are great too.
Sorry I am so late visiting this week.
