THE WEDNESDAY EVENING POST FOR JANUARY 16, 2013

Hey All!

Welcome back for another edition of the Wednesday Evening Post!  I'm noticing that the daylight is sticking around just a little longer which is proof that Spring is just 9 weeks away.  I'm not a Winter person and I don't really like the cold, so the shorter the better.  I hope this finds you all warm and safe.  I also hope those who had that nasty flu are feeling better.

This week I don't have cards to show, but I have a card organization project to share.  Take a look. . .
Here is the whole set of card organizers I made using a template and video found HERE.  She was kind enough to not only share a video, but also supplies the template and measurements.  Thanks Sami!  These are so easy to make, and once you've got the hang of it, I was making one every 15 minutes.  I thought about doing them all in one type of card stock/paper, but I had more fun choosing paper that kind of corresponded to the type of card that is in the box.  I still have a few more to make.  Here are some other looks:
I was easily able to fit 10 multi-layered cards and envelopes in each box.  The "labels" on each were generated in Word using clip art.  I have these sitting on a bookshelf in my craft room and they have really organized my card stash.  It also allows me to know which type of  card I'm running low on so I can always have a good supply in all categories.

Well, that's it for this post.  Short and sweet for a change.  I hope you try these!  Thanks so much for coming by to see me!  I love having you guys drop in.  I'm on my way to see what you've been up to for the past week, so you'll be seeing me soon.  Have some cocktails ready OK?

Hugs,

Curt

OMGosh Curt! These are fabulous. I love all the different papers you used for them. And those clip art images are perfect for labeling them. I'm going to have to give these a try right away. One of my New Year's resolutions was to get more organized this year and this will help so much! Thanks for always sharing your projects with us and giving us the links. You always inspire me! Another great project, and what a useful project at that! In my next life, I'm going to be organized too! Your pic of the week is gorgeous. I don't like the cold either, but it is so beautiful to look at! Thanks for sharing, and have a wonderful weekend, dear friend...

Your card organizers are wonderful! I am not a winter person, either, and it has been cold and rainy here for what seems like forever. I need some sunshine!

What a great idea Curt, and these are all so lovely. Love that you used different design paper. I am telling my self I have to get more cards done in advance.

You are not by your self, I do not like Winter, cold and it being dark so early. But Spring is right around the corner. :)
Have a fabulously creative week.

I am so glad that you know my dear friend, Sami! I remember when she was just getting started, when she was still in school, when she got married, etc.! I just love her (she gave me an opportunity to be on her first design team). I call her the Organizer Bunny of stamping. Even though I haven't blogged in almost a year, I am still alive and kicking, and check up on you every week. I look forward to your posts. You always inspire me with your wonderful work. But, more importantly, you always make me feel as if I am just sitting down for a visit with a dear friend. Sue from Kansas

What a nice way to start the year--with organization. You made so many. I have all of my cards in a large rubbermaid container. I like your idea better.

MR ORGANIZATION ... you make "organization wannabees" like me, feel very envious. Aside from that, what a great idea and they look cool too.

And I think that you want the warm weather back so that you can jump into your pool again. You'd better be careful because I might just come for longer than a one month visit!

Stay warm.

Curt, you are certainly starting the new year off in a good way...so organised and looking so smart. Love those organisers, maybe I should follow your example.
I am sadly thinking that our mornings are not quite as bright when I get us as they were a few weeks ago...so autumn is not too far away, but I do enjoy autumn, its what comes after that I don't like so much.
Your photo is so beautiful, we never see anything like that in our winters here...they are just brown and cold, but at least mostly sunny,
Take care and keep warm. hugs, Ursula

Hi Curt! These are awesome! You're so organized and I'm quite impressed! :) That photo is stunning as well. :) Would make a nice center for a "Welcome Winter" card! :) I don't have any cocktail fixings, but come on over for some hot cocoa any day! ;)

These are great Curt! They look so nice all lined up like that . I love new storage ideas. If you make a roof it would look like a house and could be a great gift. See you have my wheels turning. LOL
Thanks for sharing,

Such a great project. Thanks for the link.
I think this is going to be very helpful in my craft cave clean up. I think I will be using up some of my papers and cardstock that haven't seen the light of day for years for this project.
I know a lot of people aren't a fan of winter but your pic of the week is so gorgeous.

Great idea Curt...I try to be organized in a large box, but still not quite the fit I was looking for. Now I need to look at the great job you did. The Frozen Falls photo is awesome!

Love your card organizer's. Organizing is not one of my stronger points and I tend to cause more trouble by doing so. But I can find you anything in a flash, no matter how long it's been stored. Amazes my daughter's.

I am not looking forward to warmer weather, as I love winter. Here on the east coast we've not had much of it and the temps have been unseasonably warm...not even one snowflake and it's January. I love your pic of the week...simply gorgeous.

Hope your health is fantastic. I got hit with this horrid flu which turned into acute bronchitis 3 weeks ago, so I've been pretty much on bed rest.

Have a blessed week.

Hi Curt,
I LOVE your organizers. I am so glad that you enjoyed the tutorial. I must confess, I have only made 3 so far! I need as many as you probably :) They look great all lined up in a row. You did good!

Thanks so much for sharing this project with everyone. Someone left me a note that they found me through you.

And Sue, I love you dearly! You actually call me the Energizer Bunny of Stamping! I will never forget that! I've gotten a lot of nicknames over the years and your's is definitely my fave :)

Hugs,
Sami

TFS the card holders!
Way better than rifling through my cards in a drawer to see if I have one that will work!
They're on the list for this weekend!

It's all about organizing that keeps us half way sane - love the box - will go check it out. Love the frozen picture - sounds like we are heated for some very cold days here in Missouri the next few days. TFS your project with us.

Curt, what a fine friend to share such a tutorial as organizer shelf caddies! That soiled sheet of cardstock no longer has to wait for just the right salvage project! here is a made for gifting organizational idea. Remember all those spice and herb packet mixes? Here's an easy eyecatching idea to save space or gift to a shower or occasion recipient. There's plenty of deco space to tie a ribbon for a May Day basket over a door knob! Thinking Spring?!! Really, this could be a fun holder to cart all those CARDS4KIDS Valentines needing to be sent Children's Hospital over on rubbermaid.blogspot.com by or near the end of January - first of February. What a fun way for Ms. Scanlan to give the youthful patients Valentine choices on which to greet others at home, school, or in the next door bed this coming heartfelt season. Keep Looking UP!

Hi Curt!
Love the winter photograph. There is something about a mass of frozen water that is just beautiful to me.

Your card organizers couldn't have come at a more opportune time. I'm doing a complete strip and start over of my studio this week. Pics on my blog.

I'm off to check out Sami's site.
Creative Blessings!
