THE WEDNESDAY EVENING POST FOR FEBRUARY 8, 2012

Hey All!!!

Is that you who is wearing that amazing perfume???  You smell great!

There will be no video tonight. . .For some reason, my video is taking way to long to upload to YouTube.  So it's the old format for tonight.  Can you tell I just don't have the patience to deal with technical problems tonight?

Here are my cards that I would like to share with you.
Remember the card I made with the fireplace that used a battery operated tea light?  Remember the little tiny portrait of a little black pug above it?  Yep, this is another card for that neighbor lady.  I made this card for her to give to her from her beloved Marley.  She is kind of alone and I wanted to be sure that she got a Valentine.  This is a Mo Manning image and it so looks like her little Marley.  It's colored with my colored pencils and oms.  I put on some gloss on her nose for a shiny, wet look.
I made this thank you card for a very sweet neighbor who just gave me two giant grocery sacks full of stamps!  She is giving up stamping for now and wanted me to have them.  I am so grateful and wanted to make a thank you card to let her know.  The image is from Hero Arts colored with Bic markers with glitter added for sparkle.  I USED MY SEWING MACHINE AGAIN!  Simple straight stitch, but I think it looks pretty good for only my 3rd time using it.
This last card is for her sister who lives just a couple of houses down from her.  I watched her sweet dogs for her while she was away for a few days, and she was very generous with compensation.  I just wanted to let her know how much I appreciated it.  This card is out of my comfort level because I combined 3 different patterns of DP (all The Paper Studio).  I added liquid pearls to the image for texture.  The ribbon used to be black and white, but I "dyed" it with Antique Linen distress ink to go better with the color scheme of the card.

Well that's it for now. . .I've had to stop several times in typing this because typing makes my forearm feel like it is on fire.  The elbow is better (for the most part), but it is taking a lot of time to heal because my care for Jay requires me to lift him out of bed to get him into his chair each morning, and other various uses during the day.  So it is slow, but I'm going to keep going to see if I can't do this on my own without another shot.

Pic of the Week
This sweet little fox is new to the neighborhood.  This was taken in my side yard this past weekend.  It is hunting voles.  From his size and face, I can tell he is a young pup and still hasn't learned to fear humans as much as he should.  He has certainly made himself famous around the neighborhood.  He drives my boys nuts!  LOL

Well, thanks so much for stopping by.  I'm SO SORRY that I haven't made it to everyone's blogs in the last couple of weeks, but I swear I'm working on it.  It just kinda hurts (it has taken me over two hours to type this!)  It is all YouTube's fault!!!  Anyway, I will be catching up with all of you in the coming week!  Promise!

Hope you are all doing well.  Hugs to everybody!

Love you guys!

Curt

I've decided that you live in the best neighborhood in the whole world! And you are probably the best neighbor ever! Each card is wonderful, and I know that they will be appreciated by the recipients. Bet it felt like Christmas getting those bags of stamps! lol... The boys look great all decked out for Valentine's Day! Your little fox is so sweet. When we were in Colorado last weekend, we had a small fox run out in front of us. The amazing thing was that it was also in an area with lots of homes, traffic, pets, etc. I find myself worrying about it...lol. Great sewing! I still have never sewn on a card - must give it a try as I love how it looks. Take care of yourself, dear friend!

I agree with PattiJ that you must live in the best neighborhood. i think your picture should be the poster pic for neighborhood watch!
Love the new pic of the boys ready for V-day.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment about my daughter's pic on my blog...it made me cry what you said...she is as beautiful in the inside as she is on the outside.
Can you guess I am a proud mom?
Hugs to you and the boys.

Marley's big brown eyes are certain to bring tears to your neighbour lady's eyes ... I'm sure she misses her little Marley very much.

Looks like you are mastering the sewing machine. Your thought behind the card is probably the reason she was generous to you in passing along her stamps ... YOUR kindness has come full-circle.

And the final card is SOOOO nice! Love the layers and texture ... looks like you should venture out of your comfort zone more often!

Miss your voice from your video posts (I've been having a lot of trouble with YouTube lately too). Sending well wishes that you are gaining strength with each new day.

PS ... love the Boy's Valentine attire.

Nice to see you back in blogland...great cards that I am sure will be appreciated....and how fun to get a bag full of stamps...love your layered card...I am hoping to get some Valentines out this week...remember the site I sent you for "stuff"??...I ordered from her and was very pleased...she is behind though, as since she put in the shopping cart, she is swamped...love the Valentine pic of the boys!!

Beautiful cards as always! I love this card design by the way...too cute!

So glad that your elbow is feeling a little better. I had that years ago & it does take a long time to get back to normal. I had bought this little blow up pillow thing that I got from Walgreens to wrap around my elbow, someone at work told me to get it. I used it mainly at work while on the pc but that thing was anoying. After a week or so of using it I finally gave up & let it heal on its own. Good luck & be patient, it WILL heal. Hugs Rita

We may need to all chip in and buy you a voice program...hmmm : )

Wow I am impressed, Thursday morning and I had a great surprise to start my day... Hope your weekend can have some rest, and healing time... Tell the boys they look so handsome... Til next time...hugs with healing my grand kids call it

I'm so sorry you are still in pain, you just take it easy and don't worry about commenting on blogs, we all know you care and just want you to get better!

Oh, how sweet of you to send a Valentine to your neighbor, I bet she really appreciated receiving one from her little friend! Take care and rest your arm/elbow.

Curt, straight stitching adds to the straight lines in thestem, spine, and elongated stamped flower petal to carry the viewer's eye around the card's face and sentiment. How sentimental! Two bags of stamps! What an occasion! What a card of multilayer and textures! Good going, guy! Warm pak, cold pak for your elbow this evening while browsing blogland.
Blessings, mt23stamperatyahoo Keep Looking UP!

Hi Curt I thought it was mechanical thing you didn't have patience for not technical. I remember when the sewing machine was new. You really are doing a great job with your sewing.
I love all your cards but the one outside of your comfort zone it the one I love best. Those papers look amazing together.
I hope your video problem gets worked out and that your arm gets better soon. It is so hard to rest your arm. Try to take it easy!

I'm always delighted by your creations when I come to visit. I especially like the first Thank You card with the little butterfly on it. Your 'boys' are adorable in the banner all decked out for Valentine's Day. REST that arm! Be well. Hugs!

The 'Marley' card is so sweet. Love the purple card (my favorite color). How very thoughtful and generous of your neighbor to give you her stamping supplies. They will definitely be put to good use in your craft room. You sure did a great job going out of your comfort zone. The different PPs look very nice together.

Wonderful cards! Love the fox photo too! How fun is that to have around to photograph though I am sure the boys think otherwise. They look stunning in their new bandanas. Please rest your arm - like someone else said just a quick sentence to say hi and if there is a bonus of some cards and photos - we will cherish them as always. You have to be the best neighbor ever! Hugs to all.

Your cards are so gorgeous. Love that Mo's Digital doggy & the florals are both so stunning. I need to make flower cards.

That is no fun that your arm is bothering you. I fractured my elbow, so I know how you feel. It makes things so tricky! Thanks for the lovely inspiration.

Hi Curt!

Hope you are having a nice weekend! Enjoyed catching up on your blog and seeing your beautiful work. I think the black and creamy gold card is fantastic! And always love your doggie cards :)

Have you tried Fish Oil supplements to see if it will help your elbow? I'm wondering if there are alternative ways of lifting. My daughter is studying to get her doctorate in PT and talks about moving patients quite a bit. There are techniques that may make it easier for you to do :)
