QUICK UPDATE

Hey All!

How the heck are ya???  Better than me I hope. . .I thought I better post a quick update because several of you have sent emails worrying about me.

I'm on injured reserve" at the moment.  I have a condition called "tennis elbow" and for those of you who have had it or have it, you know how painful it can be.  The only "fix" for it is either to not use it for several days until the tendons calm down, or go to the doctor and get a shot of cortisone in the elbow area.  So, for the first few days, I tried to rest it.  Mine is almost debilitating and unfortunately, it is in my dominant arm.  So it stops me from doing just about anything.  However, I was feeling much better, and then we got some snow yesterday. . .So like a dumb *#!, not only did I shovel our driveway, I went and shoveled a neighbors for her, then drove over to my sister's and shoveled her driveway (and it's a big one!) so she wouldn't have to do it after working all day.  As you can guess, my elbow is not only hurting, my forearm is swollen and sore as well.  So my plans for getting a video up this week are completely dashed.  I have not even been able to use a pair of scissors today, and typing felt like sawing off my arm (I've been using my left index finger for this) LOL.  So, that's what is happening and that is why you haven't seen me on your blogs commenting. . .it would take me months at this rate!

Until I learn to let it heal, I'll hopefully be able to finish projects this weekend and have a video for you next Wednesday.  Thanks to all of you who have emailed me worrying.  You are the sweetest!

See you next Wednesday! (I hope!)

Hugs,

Curt

Ouch! Rest man, rest! That is not fun. I've never had tennis elbow but I have pulled the trapeseus (sorry I don't know how to spell that word) muscle in my left shoulder several times in a short span of 2 years and it's still not right. When I do too much with my left arm it seizes the muscle up, it swells and that leads to a terrible migraine that lasts for no less than 3 days. It's debilitating. Rest that arm so you can hurry up and get to feeling better!

While I commend your generosity with the shoveling, you need to heal that arm, bud! :) Have a restful, healing weekend.

Ouch! You have to rest. I mean a long rest of a week or two. Tendons take a very long time to recover. Don't worry about commenting or even posting right now. Heal thy self first. Hope your sister gives you TLC for shoveling her driveway. Take care.

Oh my! My hubby had that, and it scared the bejeebies out of me...he likes to latchhook rugs, well he leans his elbows on the table and he had to stop for a while. I can't remember exactly how long it took a couple or three weeks, not sure, but it finally went away. He took Alieve..so now he tries not to keep his elbows resting on the table. I sure hope you get better soon...and hey no more shoveling driveways :O) I haven't looked outside this evening so it could be snowing, but looks like we will get freezing rain, not sure we are kind of on the line. Take care! Hugs! Leah Ann

OH NO! That's really painful, my husband Rick had that, you can get a band to wear on your elbow that eleviates some pain. Hope you are feeling better real soon. You need to get a snowblower!!!!!!!!

Thinking of you.

If all this hails a snowblower, buy the style having a pull cord as well as an electric cord to plug in at twenty below zero...it was lifesaver for us the last two mornings. Of course, we received the most snow in the entire region! after two floods in the spring and a long wait to see if mountain snowmelt would flood #3 this is par! Self-propelled prime!
Four yards and driveways today with one more huge storm cell on the prediction radar makes this a community snow removal effort. Curt, yours surely is a healing session. Blessings as you rest.
Keep Looking UP!

You just rest and let that arm heal! No more snow shoveling, you hear me?? Rest, relax in front of a warm fire, and be good to yourself.

Thanks for letting us know!
I'm for the snowblower too!
Love mine, and it has an electric start! AWESOME!
I've had Golfers elbow, so I imagine the pain is the same.
Rest up my friend, we'll be here when you get back!

Why have you been playing tennis in winter??? LOL
I have heard it is painful, and hope you take the time to let it heal. I get cortisone shots several times a year for my severe arthritis and wouldn't wish them on anyone.
STAY inside and take care
Sending you hugs.
Put the racket down now!

You poor thing.. I know what tennis elbow feels like, and it is no fun. Even when it feels good, you have to be careful for several months.

You are lucky we do not live close to you for if we did and saw you shoveling we would have spanked your butt all the way home :).

Take care and rest. Know that you will be missed.
Hugs.

Oh you silly man! But they all must love you very much for taking such good care of them. Now you take care of you. I hope they are bringing you ice packs and chocolates. I have a bad shoulder. Dr says not ready for surgery but here are some pills. They are like Advil so I have enough pain to remind me not to do some things. Elbows are much worst. So much movement comes from there. You should rest for two weeks! We will all be here when you get back.
Hugs,
Linda

OMG Curt,
You poor thing, I sure hope you get as much rest as you need and we'll just have to wait patiently until you get better my friend. On the other hand, Zorro's seizure cluster finally ended, 14 seizures in 3 days last week. My knee caps are feeling better since I fell twice walking ebony & miley on the cement (friday the 13th and saturday). Glad to see our ice/snow go away again clearing the sidewalks for our 1 1/2 mile walk. Take care my friend, until you post again.....

Hugs,
Gina

Rest that elbow and take care of yourself!

Anonymous said...

Curt,
Have had that and I can sympathize with you... hurts like a &$%$#!!! I like you do know when to quit...but...there is a devise you can buy at any Walgreens or Wal-mart to place on your forearm at the elbow area and it will decrease the pain while you allow it to heal. Ask the pharmicist for the brace for tennis elbow...it will help some.
Did mine fishing and with this device could still go and play a little. Hope it helps you too!!!
