HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE - ANYTHING BUT A CARD

Hey All!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Can you believe that it is already the end of August?  I'm so excited that Fall is in sight.  I'm about done with this horribly hot weather!  We had a heat index of 105 earlier this week!  Couple that with high humidity, and you have misery!   My poor boys just melt from this heat.  Can't wait for the cool temps of Autumn. . .

It's a new challenge over at High Hope Stamps!  This week's challenge is "Anything But A Card".  Here is my project:

This is one of my "memory boxes" that I learned to make over at Gina K. Designs.  When I saw this High Hopes image, I knew it was perfect for a recipe box.  This one is called "Chef Pierre".  The image really didn't need a lot of coloring, so couple that with a quick box that is perfect for holding recipe cards and you have a really quick project!  Notice the ribbon has hearts on it that matches the cookies?  The paper is by DCWV and I colored the image with my colored pencils and oms.

Well, that's it for this post.  I do hope you play with us this week or at least go take a look at my other Diva teamie's work (click on link above).

Hope you are all well!  I'm working on some fun stuff for Wednesday's post.  Hope to see you then.  Thanks for dropping by!

Hugs to all!

Best,

Curt O'Brien

What a perfect image for a recipe box
and gorgeous ribbon.
Our temps do not reach that high in RI, 90's a day or two but our Winters are cold, so I love Spring and Summer and start getting blue when Sept comes :)

I understand totally about the heat, my poor baby doesn't know how to keep her coat - I am thinking about buying a spinning wheel and taking up knitting again, due to the amount of hair that is coming out all year long now.

Love the pink such a strong vibrant colour and the image is just so perfect for recipes I agree, fab idea.

I always love seeing what you come up with for your boxes. Pierre is a cutie and would make a great gift for someone who loves to cook. We are so waiting for some cool weather here in Florida! Gee didn't I move here to get away from the ice and snow?

I want to know what recipes are going in the recipe box?...! Another adorable image and project idea.

I'm with you on the heat and especially the humidity. Thank goodness for central A/C ... we sure are spoiled to have it.

Surely a pig would know some good recipe right? I was always told never to trust a skinny cook! LOL!

Your project is great and I love how you matched the ribbon...very clever and detail oriented!

I am also ready for Fall! One of my fav times of the year!

Amazing, Curt! All your cards are so PERFECT! This little piggy must have gone to market and picked up some goodies to bake up! Hopefully they're dog yummies for your two little rascals! That moon walking video is hilarious!

Too cute Curt! Love that little chef. Well I'm kind of wishing for some of that heat index you have out there. We're socked in for the 3rd day in a row - lots of rain and near gale force winds - I'm learning how not to be scared by the noise that it makes though. It really roars through our rigging and sounds like it's going to rip the masts off. I head home on Sunday and hopefully John will be close behind me and we will have the fall and winter together. All the best to Jay and hug those adorable boys for me. ~chris

I love your recipe box. Are you putting in a recipe for Pulled Pork? LOL I love how the heart ribbon compliments the cookies.
We have had a ton of rain the past 3 days. It's okay with me because we really needed it here in Central New York.
