THE WEDNESDAY EVENING POST FOR OCTOBER 23, 2013

Hey All!

Glad to see that you are back safe and sound.  I've enjoyed my visits this week with all your wonderful stuff!  I've noticed, there are a lot of you who love Halloween like I do.  I've really enjoyed your Halloween creations so much.

Speaking of. . .(close your eyes Bonnie!)
Skeletons are one of my most favorite characters during Halloween.  Isn't that cut out circle feature cool?  I got my inspiration from THIS CARD. When I saw the card that inspired me, this one came into my head.  I used various stamps for this: The big skull and Halloween ticket are by Craft Smart (wood mount), the skeleton is by My Minds Eye, and the skeleton hand holding the ticket is by my buddy Mark at Deadbeat Designs, and the French script background is Stampabilities.  This is a 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 square card.

I'm sending this one to my Vet's office.  I used real gauze to wrap a piece of beige colored card stock.  The image is by Stampendous.
Love this Halloween martini glass by Impression Obsession.  Super quick and easy card to make for those "adult" Halloween lovers on your list.  Colored it all with Bic markers.  The background paper is My Mind's Eye.

OK, Halloween stuff shown, now my Fall project (You can open your eyes now Bonnie):

I bought the template for this box months ago and just now got around to using it.  It is a great box with a drawer for cards (holds 6 A2 sized cards perfectly) and a shelf for the envelopes.  The template is by Creations by AR which you can find HERE.  These are a sample of the cards that are inside:

Same stamp, just colored differently.  The first has just solid color trees and the bottom has variegated colored leaves.  I colored the bottom by just making lots and lots of dots with different colored markers.  On both, I added the dots at the bottom of each tree to simulate fallen leaves.  The stamp is by Memory Box.  There are 3 each for a total of 6 cards in the set.  Each says something different.  I'm giving this set to my Mom and sister.

Pic of the Week:

Even weeds are beautiful in the Fall!
Well, that's it for this post.  Sorry I put in so much, but I've had lots to share.  I know my posts are like epic journeys!  LOL  Thanks so much for always coming to see me and leaving me such great comments.  You all are truly the highlight of my week.

Hope you are all well and happy!

Hugs,

Curt

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such neat comments. All is well in my world, at the moment.
Great cards and I love the gauze on that card.
What a neat idea for a gift with your personally made note cards.
Beauty IS all around us if we just take the time to look as you have proved with a beautiful pic of a lowly weed.

Hi Curt, Thanks for dropping by again. I always appreciated your visits. As you can tell, I haven't gotten around to making Halloween cards. Too busy making Christmas ones. LOL. I love all of your work. The mummy stamp is just too cute. Your card box is magnificent and I love how you dotted the trees to look like fall. As always, you're such an inspiration.

Well, so much for planning on having martini's when I come for my vacation at your place!

As I was scrolling down ( since I thought it was safe), all I could see were eyeballs. Turned out to be the D/P on your card and envelope box. Good job you didn't hear what I called you until I realized the pattern was not eyesballs! The box and cards are so cute ... what a great idea.

Oh my goodness you have been super busy - love the gift box with the note cards, what a great gift. All my Halloween cards this year are for the children so I didn't make really spooky ones. Great job on everything you posted this week, what talent runs through those hands.

Curt, what a colorful blog journaling! Fall / Autumn looks picture perfect the same in both our areas. You were adept at capturing the glory of season changing. Here, capturing leaves and mulching them to infuse their fibers into the soil before (90%) promised flakes arrive in 24hrs. will fill the afternoon until sunset. . . grey out to black out may be more like it. Frost has to melt and dry off first near noontime.
What a fine demo box from your template find! Shelf strength makes the work last twice as long. Your tree coloration enhances the card - box set coordination and the realism from fall activities, human and creator. Such a rich gift for mom to happily sport with love!
Those tunnel cards are smashing! Vellum in print made the tealite zip.
Catching that one again. Thahks for sharing.
Keep looking UP!

Curt,
thanks for all of your encouraging comments on my designs on SCS! I was reading what you have been going through the past couple of and my heart goes out to you! Especially with the loss of your furry companion. I have a shelf just like yours! Take care of yourself and the new teeth. That must have been an ordeal to have done!
