THE WEDNESDAY EVENING POST FOR FEBRUARY 13, 2013

Hey All!

Welcome back to another edition of the Wednesday Evening Post!  I hope those of you on the east coast have dug yourselves out of that horrendous blizzard you all had.  Good Lord that was a lot of snow!  I've marveled at the pictures I've seen.  I hope you are all OK.

I have a couple of new cards to share with you.  If you've followed me for any length of time, you know I'm a sucker for cute and whimsical images.  Well, these following cards scream of both!  Take a look:
Like the sentiment says, this card also makes me smile.  The snail and the frog are stamps by Stacey Yacula and the little mushroom and dragonfly are from other stamps sets I have.  I just want to hug their little faces!  They are colored with watercolor pencils. . .actually everything in this little scene is done in watercolor.  I added the brad because it had spots like the frog.  You'll be seeing the snail in another upcoming project.

Here's the next one:
LOL!  This one makes me laugh.  This pig is a Hambo digital stamp which is one of my favs.  You can't see it very well in the photo, but the "brown" hill was ran through the crimper to look like plowed rows, but it doesn't show up in the photo very well.  The little tree was perfect size for this scene and is a stamp from PTI.  I drew the clouds by hand and cut them out, then added sparkle to their outline (which you also can't see very well), and the sky was sponged with distress ink.  I fussy cut the pig and balloon out and popped him up with dimensional tape as well as one of the clouds for additional depth.  The pig and balloon were colored with my cheap colored pencils.  It is really cute irl.

So, there you have it. . .that is what came out of my head this week.  I'd love to know what you think of them.  As always, I thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to come and see me.

Pic of the Week

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I hope you all find yourself celebrating all the love in your lives as you are surrounded by all of those you love.

Hugs,

Curt

We had about 12 inches of snow, and the puppy absolutely loved it.

I love the 'pigs might fly' card Curt. Those images definitely are cute. Wonderful 'smiley' cards for this week. That snow photo makes me feel a lot cooler especially as we are in a hot, humid summer here.

Looks like you are finally getting back into the swing of things... creating and posting. If you ever decide to hug a little frog, be prepared that they will pee on you first (not that I have 'hugged' frogs but rescued a few of them)!

Both cards made me smile and that's always a good thing.

Lordy, Lordy....too adorable cards. You are right....that frog made me grin like him. I discovered Hambo Stamps a while back with the instant love of that flying pig. Thank you for the inspiration and reminding me to get him out. Also, a lovely snowy soft kind of photo....not like what's up North. My brother and SIL are still without electricity. They lost all there wonderful Omaha Steak packages ($500) during Hurrican Sandy. They just refurbished the freezer last Monday with Omaha Steaks ($600) and just lost it all with this snow. I told them to just STOP and not order till Spring...lol However, while their house was being hammered by the snow, they were chillin' at their lovely beach house on the SC coast. Ok...back to the cards...I must go check out Sandy's stamps.

Happy Valentines Sweetie!! I always love what comes out of your head, the flying pig is awesome! The babies look great in their Valentines picture!!
Yes, we are finally shoveled out but am not sure what's on the way for Sunday!! Some forecast 25 to 30 cm of snow and some say it will be freezing rain. We just take whatever we get. Hope you, Jay and the babes are doing well!

What a wonderful way to start the day!!! with a great big grin from you and your frog.
Your card gives new meaning to the saying, "when pigs fly". Love it and your crimped hill is fabulous. I really need to get a crimper. I see so many neat things using them.
Your little snow scene is so peaceful. I love your ability to see such beauty in such a simple little thing.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a great comment.
HAPPY VALENTINE DAY TO YOU AND YOURS.

Love the cute fun Valentines you shared with us this week - the frog is just too cute and love the flying pig - I used to tell my kids they could do "when pigs fly" and it wasn't until they were older that they finally got it!!!. The snow scene is very pretty and as always love the pic of the boys.
