THE WEDNESDAY EVENING POST FOR DECEMBER 19, 2012

Hey All!

Well, here we are less than a week from Christmas.  We have had a very mild winter here in Indiana so far.  No snow and none in the foreseeable future, so no white Christmas for us.  I haven't even used the fireplace yet!

I hope this post finds you warm, safe and happy.  I would be remiss if I did not mention the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut.  What a very sad day for this country.  I was heartbroken for those families and can not imagine the grief that they are enduring.  They have been close in my thoughts with every news piece I've seen or read.

Here are the last of my Christmas cards for this year to share:
Aren't they sweet?  They look so cold!  I made this card for the House Mouse Monday Challenge and their theme "snow".  I used to be on their design team and hadn't colored up one of these images in awhile so I thought I would play for old times sake.  I used colored pencils and oms to color it and the snow is done with liquid applique.  The star was given a squirt of gold Stickles.
I love the simplicity of this stamp.  This is one of those "negative image" stamps.  The only way I know how to use them is to ink them up with Versamark ink and use embossing powder.  I used white ep on this one then used a marker to color in the birds.  Embossed the white panel behind it to continue the "falling snow" look and done.  Quick and easy.
I love gingerbread people and this stamp and die set from Hero Arts is one of my favs.  I love the little stitching lines around them.  And may I say, the person who invented the stamps and matching dies needs to be nominated for sainthood!  This is the first set I've had and I could have sets like this for every stamp!
I had one little gingerbread guy left over so I made a card just highlighting him.  He looks happy about it doesn't he?  Not much explanation needed here other than I drew in the white with a white gel pen and the buttons are done with red liquid pearls.

Pic of the Week
SCHNAUZER REINDEER!!!
Since this is the last post before Christmas, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest and Brightest of New Years.  I hope that you all get everything you hope for and then some, and that you are surrounded by those you love the most.

Love you guys!

Curt

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your little family.
Working from the bottom up: your pic of the "reindeer" is priceless.
I love Gingerbread men to look at, make cards with and of course milk and gingerbread goes together so well.
Your red birds and snowy card are gorgeous. Love the simple elegance of it. Multiple uses for that one.
I left it to the last. You know how I love the HM and all their antics. The crazy squirrel that comes begging for peanuts at my house pulls off some pretty funny antics too. Nothing like HM but still makes me laugh.
Hugs to all.

Well, hello! You know that I love when you color up those HM images! Beautifully done, sir! Love the serenity of the peaceful bird card. So pretty. The gingerbread cards are cute as can be, and yes, I agree about the sainthood for the creator of the stamp/die sets. What a great idea! I won a Hero Arts set a while back, and OMG, it's wonderful! Finally, those boys have stolen my heart again. What sweeties they are! Thanks for sharing them with us. Christmas blessings to you, Jay, and the boys.

Hi Curt! I can send some snow your way if you really want it - I'd rather not have it! Actually I love how it looks, I just hate to drive in it. I love your trees and birds card - stunning! You've been very busy and those mice do indeed look very cold. Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season for you, Jay and those darling boys. ~chris

Hi Curt,

You've been busy indeed! The cards are outstanding! The little mice almost made me cry - they look too cold to be putting their stockings up on the tree branch! I hope someone fills the stockings to the brim with some treats!

The negative image card is just perfect - right down to the dry embossing "snow flakes". There is something about trees with a bird or two that seems so serene.

I love, love, love the gingerbread cookie card! In fact, it has a prominent place on my card display - thank you dear friend!

Can the boys actually pull a sleigh? They look like they could if you had a rig for them! The photo is wonderful!

Hugs and love to all of your family!

Love the cards this week - especially the birds in the trees - and the sentiment is perfect. I have a couple of stamps like this one - need to ink them up. The boys look dashing in their hats and collars, like they are in training to pull Santas sleigh. Sending blessing to you and Jay for a wonderful Christmas and to thank you for your beautiful blog posts weekly.

I too are behind on my blog visits but belated Christmas wishes to you and Jay and the boys. I LOVE the photos of your reindeer boys - hee hee - I had a good old chuckle.

Hey, I can send you some HOT weather if you like! It is summer here and been so dry, hot and very windy. Lucky we just got air conditioning fitted in the week before Christmas so it is much more pleasant for card making.

LOVE your cards Curt especially the House Mouse one. Those little mice look so snug in their blankets and I love the gorgeous textures on the card.

Wishing you good health for 2013 - take really good care of yourself - and sending lots of hugs and happy wishes to Jay and the boys too.

Hi Curt, Love your wonderful cards and those reindeer how cute! I so appreciate your visiting my blog and your sweet wonderful comments. My daughter had her surgery, removed her thyroid. 14 nodules and 2 were cancer. She is going to have to do radioactive iodine treatment, and more test. Praying that it is gone but will have to make sure it isn't anywhere else. Needless to say, I'm on pins and needles, and trying to stay strong. Have a Great 2013...Hugs! Leah Ann
