THE WEDNESDAY EVENING POST FOR DECEMBER 5, 2012

Hey All!

Can you believe it is DECEMBER already???  And that Christmas is just 20 days away!!!!  I've been producing cards like a crazy person.  I was up until almost 2 AM this morning working on cards.  I figure if the end of the world is going to happen on the 21st, then that leaves me even less time to get these in the mail!  LOL  Great, just what we all need, more pressure!

Here are my cards for this week:
Is this little guy the cutest snow person ever???  This is a new image from artist Stacey Yacula in red rubber.  This one I colored in with water color pencils, but I've done several versions of this card also using markers too.  He's fast and fun to color and just puts a smile on my face.
Another new Stacey Yacula image.  I have a new found favorite artist for sure.  This image was colored with my colored pencils and oms.
Yes, this too is a Stacey Yacula image.  The sentiment is computer generated and I used this line from 'Twas the Night Before Christmas because it is what came to mind the first time I saw the image.  I created the brick background using an embossing folder then rubbing it with Fired Brick Distress Ink.  The image is colored with a combination of markers and colored pencil.
My last card was unfortunately necessary this week.  A friend of a friend of mine suffered a very sad, and tragic loss.  I have never met this person, but was touched by the tragedy of her situation so I felt compelled to make the card.  It was also nice to be able to get away from red/green/white/blue for awhile.

Well, that's it for yet another post.  I hope you are all well, warm, and happy and that your excited about the holidays.  Every since my heart attack, I view many things differently.  For example, I really didn't get excited about Christmas, but now it is fun and I realize that every holiday is a milestone in our so very short lives.  They should all be celebrated. . .

Pic of the Week

Hugs to all of you!

Curt

Great cards as usual. I particularly like the brick one. I keep thinking how much mileage I could get out of that folder but never seem to get around to getting it. lol

Awesome cards!
If you'd make them all year like someone you know, there'd be no mad dash in December. Just sayin!
Stay warm....was -34 here this morning, -42 with the windchill.
Where's the snow in your pic of the week? I'm gonna see about sending you some!
Stay well, hope everything's wonderful in your corner of the world....oh, and I'm coming with Bonnie! I cook!

I love your picture of the week. I used a picture similar to that for a couple of retirement cards. :) I really need to get moving on my Christmas cards. It's slow going since there are so many other things that need my attention right now. I really like the card you created using the wall with the stockings.

What fun Christmas images you've used for your cards Curt. I'm in the same boat, madly making Christmas cards so I can get them in the mail early this year.

Linda said...

I was getting so I didn't want to decorate. Haul it all out for a couple of weeks. Then put it all away. But You are right. They should be celebrated. Thanks for the reminder and for sharing your lovely cards. I hope you got to sleep in after staying up so late making cards. I know when you are on a roll it is hard to stop. I got in the Merry Monday challenge last year and I hope I have enough made. I should check.
Have a wonderful week!

Hi, Curt!!! Your cards are as incredible as they always are, and love the "pic of the week" -- beautiful!!!

It was wonderful to hear from you, I'd worried when you hadn't posted for awhile. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back here but I'm been going through quite a situation myself! As for you, I hope you're taking care of yourself -- don't think you should be up and not getting the rest you need...

I'll be back soon as I think I'm going to have to keep a better eye on you... lol!

Hugs, my friend!

Two really cute Christmas cards Curt-the Santa is so sweet-you sound like me-I find myself up until 2:00 a lot this time of year. Can only do it for a few days then I need my sleep (lol)

That's the caregivers' and teachers' way of covering'down time' in solo work environment...midnight to two: one last project. Been there! Hope you shag some sleep dear friend. Tonight is the night here with yet much to accomplish. Off to the P.O. soon. Had to let you know how much the brick wall impressed me with a joyful feeling of variety when flashing back at all the times a print/ embossing just like that would have been 'just so'. Thank you for telling the 'How tos' along with your card description. Helpful!
Keep Looking UP! mt23stamper

Adorable cards, Curt! I love how the button on the snowman looks a little like an "innie" belly button. lol Plus I love those pointy toe stockings! I'm sure that the lovely sympathy card brought peace and serenity to the recipient. Take care, and hugz to the Boyz!

Oh these cards are amazing! I love them all but the snowman is my favorite, what a cutie! Thanks so much for visiting my blog. My daughter is having health issues, and it's got me a bit out of sorts. She has to have her thyroid removed, both sides and we do not know if the verdict is good or bad as of yet. The biopsy did not show yeah or neigh, so I'm worried sick :( I so appreciate your concern. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! Hugs! Leah Ann

Hi Curt! I just love coming to visit you and see what your creations are for the week. You always inspire me and lately I've been having a hard time with getting my mojo going. Each weekend I hope to get my Christmas cards started but have such a hard time. Also, I know you liked the tea holder card so I thought I would post the link here, since I'm not sure when I'll be posting to my blog. The only thing I changed up from the tutorial is the tea pockets, I trimmed out the top half of the scored edges to make it less bulky. If you're not sure what I'm saying just shoot me an email. :O) Here is the link: iwannabuildamemory.blogspot.com/2011/09/tea-bag-holder-card-tutorial-for-kraft.html I hope it works as my mouse has decided to die and new batteries aren't reviving it. Have a great week and I'm looking forward to your tea holder card(s). Hugs, Carmen

Love the cards. So sorry I only get to visit today, but my life is spiraling a little out of control at the moment. Thankfully school is out and I am on holiday, so maybe I will have a little more time for regular visits.
My DH had a heart attack last year and it has changed the way he lives his life completely, no more chasing after who knows what. Suddenly things that seemed so very important, appears to be so trivial and thing we take for granted, becomes precious.
Have a great week and stay warm, from a very hot South Africa.

Wow Curt - your cards are gorgeous! LOVE that snowman - he is so adorable!! LOVE how you did the brick background - looks so fab!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your concerns re my loved one. They are doing pretty well now - just taking a long time to recover from treatment as they have very little energy and tire so easily. Very full-on with caring and not much time for anything else - but I cherish our time together.

Sending lots of {{hugs}} to you, Jay and the boys. Take care of yourself :-)
