CHRISTMAS EVE POST 12/24/2009

Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!  I hope this post finds you all in good spirit and surrounded by all those that you love.  I waited to post my "Wednesday Evening Post" until today because I wanted to post the last of my Christmas cards of the holiday and wanted to send you all holiday wishes.

So not a lot of gabbing on this post.  Here are my cards:

Made with Artful Inkables tree stamp and Martha Stewart Cardinal punch.

Stamp is from the dollar stamp bin at Michael's.  Sentiment is computer generated.

This is a Mo's digital image from Digital Pencil Too.  Reminds me of Gunther.  I can't color things that are supposed to be black!  Does anyone have a tip for me?

This is my first easel card.  Jay has a friend that loves cats, so he asked me to make her a Christmas card with a cat on it.  This is the only cat image I have (Mo's digital).  This easel has a surprise on it. . .take a look:

I hid the sentiment under the image.

That pile of peppermint candy gave me a fit!  LOL

This is originally a birthday stamp, but a change of colors and presto! a Christmas card.

Love those mouse cookies!

I love the look on the one startled bear's face.  LOL

This is the Christmas card that I made for my Mom.  I hope she likes it.

Well those are the cards.  I'll be making a bunch more over the coming months for my inventory to sell next fall at the big craft fair.  I have a feeling that I'm going to be really sick of Christmas cards by next Christmas!

I want to thank you all for being such wonderful blogging friends.  I've received cards from several of you and they are just so special!  I'll be highlighting them on my next post.  Thank you so much for them, I treasure each of them!

I want to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and the best that the new year has to offer.  On the Christmas Eve night, I'm going to have some hot cocoa and sit here to visit each of your blogs to leave you each an individual message.  So I'll see you later!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

Best,

Curt O'Brien

Boy you sure have been busy :). These are fabulous. Love the first card, simple but very pretty, love the sentiment of the little elf, don't you just love a bargain.. I use color pencil and gamsol when working with black. I haven't heard of an easel card?? Where the heck have I been. But this looks fabulous. Those house mouse stamps do take a lot of coloring, and these are just gorgeous. Well you and your family have a Merry Merry Christmas.

Oh I forget to add a tip on coloring black. I remember somebody somewhere saying to use different shades of grays & blend (of course that was copics) but I imagine it would work with pencils too using 1 or 2 deep dark grays. I have not tried it yet but let me know how it works for you. I'm in the process of buying some copics a few at a time. Good luck

Love the photo here with, I can't tell who, in the snow! Texas got a little snow, my daughter Jessi got in a fender bender on her way to church but is ok, car isn't! Everyone is on their way over to open gifts this morning. Then, off to my bro and his family's house where my mom and dad will meet us all.

Oh, Curt, your holiday cards are drop-dead-gorgeous!!! LOVE every single one of 'em!

I totally know what you mean about coloring in black images ... I usually cheat and start with my gray markers and slowly build up the grays 'til they get dark enough. But no, nothing ever is REALLY black, LOLOL!

Thanks so much for all your sweet and inspiring notes and posts. You are someone who truly personifies the spirit of Christmas! I'm so proud and happy to call you my friend!

All the best to you and Jay for a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year!

Curt all of your cards are truly beautiful and fun! I love how you hid your sentiment on the easel card, I will have to keep that in mind! I also, thought that image looked like your handsome dog as well. Tip when coloring in black, use other colors, If you look at your dogs you see lots of colors not just blacks, I see golds, rusts and there is always, most likely blues when coloring black dogs, use those colors as the highlights and under tones, but personally, I think you doggie looks wonderful! :O) but you did ask! :O) teehee! Love all your cards and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and have a Safe and Happy New Year! Wishing you the very best for 2010! Sure do miss you over at TMITA! :O)
