AND THE WINNER OF THE COPICS IS . . .

Hey All! Just a quick post for you today. I wanted to announce the winner of my blog candy from my 1 Year Blogaversary Celebration. As stated in the Blogaversary post I would put everyone that entered onto RandomOrg.com and whoever came out in the 14th spot would be the winner. May I have a drum roll please . . . . . . . . . and the winner of the set of 36 Copic Ciao markers is. . . . . . . . (opening the envelope). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .who came out in the 14Th spot on the list is . . . . . . . . . . . . .AMERICA!!! Congrats America! I'm thrilled for you! Please send me an email with your address so that I can get your prize(s) to you.

I'm very sorry that you all couldn't have won. . .I want to thank you all for the amazing comments and well wishes I received regarding my blog and my blogaversary. I can't believe how many left comments and how very blessed I am to have so many wonderful people looking at my "stuff". I honestly can't tell you how much each and every comment meant to me.

The card I wanted to share with you today is one I made for no particular occasion. I like to make cards sometimes with no sentiment on the outside so that I can send it for any occasion by stamping a sentiment on the inside or just writing a note to fit. Here it is:

I love this image so much. Of course it is a House Mouse stamp by Stampabilities. I used my cheap colored pencils and OMS for the coloring and Archival Jet black ink for the image itself. I added some "Angel Wings" Shimmerz to the goldfish to give him some shimmer (click picture for larger view). The card stock is Bazzill. This card ended up with an Art Deco kinda feel to it. . . A lot of these images are quite large, and this card is a 5 X 7 size which most of my cards are. I added some brads and done.

Hope you are having a great week. The weather here is Carmel, Indiana is pretty creepy. It goes from 70 to the 30's in a blink of an eye. We have had rain and spitting ice for the last two days, and the damp, cold, grey of the days is so depressing! But they say we will be near 80 by the weekend. Go figure!

Take good care everyone! Thanks again, so much, for your support and inspiration. I'll have a new post in a couple of days! I'll be seeing you all on your blogs! Don't forget the pic of the week below. . .

WE HAVE A WINNER AND A NEW CARD TO SHARE

Hey All! Hope you have had a wonderful weekend, and for those of you who haven't been feeling well (there are several of you!) I hope you are much better! Well, we have a winner of my blog candy. But like all of my other contests, I've put the winner's information at the end of the blog. I've also got a new card to share with you. So no peeking until the end! Let the excitement last just a bit longer. . . LOL Here is my card if you haven't already whizzed by it to see if you're the winner!

I am so in love with the House Mouse stamps! Thanks to Juliann at Pixieshire Too, I happened to stumble onto such a deal. She had made this adorable Christmas card with a House Mouse stamp on her blog, and I just loved it! She was so kind and sent me a Hobby Lobby 40% off coupon to use. Well I went rushing over to Hobby Lobby to buy the stamp and was happily surprised to find all of their Stampabilities stamps were 50% off! I didn't even need the coupon and got a better deal! But because she sent it to me I probably wouldn't have gone until later in the week and the sale would have been over. So, I ended up buying 3 different House Mouse stamps. Thanks Juliann! So this card I made with one of them. . .

I made this for our next door neighbor who was kind enough to make Jay and I a homemade Pumpkin Nut Roll. It was wonderful. I made a second one of these cards that is identical accept I switched the color of the critters. The rabbit is brown and the mouse is grey. I made that one for another sweet neighbor across the street who gave us the most wonderful homemade beef stew. So on the front of the cards it says "Thanks" and on the inside it says "That Was Yummy!". I thought this stamp was so perfect for that. I stamped the image in black Archival ink, colored the image with colored pencils and blended them with OMS. I mounted the image on Bazzill card stock, and then mounted that on printed paper (I don't know who makes it). Added the little dew drops from Impress Rubber Stamps, and raised the sentiment (computer generated) with foam squares. Added the satin orange ribbon and done!

OK, now to the winner. . . shall we have a drum roll please . . . .(Large and deep announcer voice here) and the winner of Curt's fabulous 10,000 hit celebration blog candy is. . . . . . . . . Joan Fricker!!!!! Joan wrote: "Curt, Congratulations on your 10,000 visits. Isn't this fun?? Great cards today and I love all your little details. Your gift is extremely generous and will be great for the lucky winner. Great job as usual! Joan" Congratulations Joan, YOU are the lucky winner! Please email me with your home address and I will get your gifts out to you right away! Below I published just the top 12 so you can see if you even made it into the top 12:

1. Joan Fricker
2. Sue
3. Marie
4. Scossie Jane
5. Sena
6. Catherine
7. Julie Koerber
8. Sue
9. DPKennedy
10. Deb Neerman
11. Ila
12. Jamie Martin

It was weird, I put my "regular commenters" in twice as stated in the "rules", but not one of them had their name show up in the top 12 twice. For example, Julie Koerber was entered twice, and she came out #7 and #49Th on the list. I just think that Random.Org is so cool.

Anyway kids, that's it for this post. Again, congrats to you Joan and I hope you enjoy your goodies!

Don't forget the pic of the week below. The color of these leaves with the berries was so unusual, they really made an odd color combo. Also, I'm going to be posting a lot more frequently in the next few weeks! I'm in a card making mode, and I have several lined up ready to share! Hope you come back to see them.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and I'll be seeing you on yours!

Best,

Curt O'Brien
