THE WEDNESDAY EVENING POST FOR APRIL 17, 2013

Hey All!

Sorry I'm a day late (and $1 short too after tax day).  I've just been consumed with the coverage of all the horror that is going on in our world.  For my readers in Boston particularly, I'm so sorry that your beautiful city was touched by such darkness and evil.  Those of you in West, Texas I can't tell you how saddened I am over the loss of life there.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers. . .

I've only created a couple of cards this week and here they are. . .

I made this for Joan Fricker. . .Some of you might know Joan from Joan's Gardens.  She lives here in the northern part of the state of Indiana.  She has a fun blog and runs challenges too.  Joan just had a complete knee replacement (which went well I read on her blog) and I wanted to send her a card wishing her a speedy recovery.  I thought this House Mouse/Happy Hopper was perfect because of the leg cast (and they threw in an ear cast too! LOL).  Of course, it is colored with my pencils and oms.  I drew all the stuff on the cast because the cast is blank when stamped.  Hope Joan is back to normal in no time!

My next was created using a die which I've had for a few weeks.  I was sitting looking at all of my paper and saw a sheet that made me think of how I could use the die. . .take a look:

The paper had these wonderful tie die patterns on it and I thought sure they would fit inside the hot air balloon die and they did.  It made a fun design on the balloon.  I embossed the clouds for more texture and used distress ink to sponge the background sky.  The sun was created from a die as well.  I freehand cut the "hills" and finished it off with a computer generated sentiment.

Pic of the Week
The Perfect Symbol of Spring
That's it for another post. . .I have now officially gone over 100,000 views on my counter and my 5 year anniversary will be next week, so be sure that you tune in next week for my celebration give away!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll be getting to all of your blogs sometime this weekend!  Hope you are all well and safe.  Take good care. . .

Hugs,

Curt

Hello Curt

It is so sad to see such violence all over the world, if only we could all live in peace.

I love your mouse with his plastered leg and bet your friend did as well. What a good idea you had with the balloon and your punches.
Hope you and Jay have a good week

Starting backwards, that pink tulip is absolutely gorgeous. Mine should be poking through soon.

Joan will love your "boo boo" card...it's like those HM/HH stamps were made for you. And how creative you were with your new die. Creating scenes has always illuded me creatively but you certainly have mastered it.

As always, great cards this week! The bunny image is so stinkin' cute! And I LOVE the 2nd card! That patterned paper is one of my favorites and is perfect for that balloon!

Finally found some mojo this week - even stepped out of my comfort zone and made a Project Life scrapbook page for our Stampendous blog hop. Will have more cards posted over the weekend. Hopefully Mr. Mojo is here to stay this time!

Have a wonderful week! Get inky!

Love the House Mouse card & Joan will too!

Your hot air balloon card is awesome...love the whole design Curt!

Things are still unfolding here in our beloved city of Boston. I live 45 minutes away, it just makes me cry like everyone in our country. What has been unfolding since the early morning hours today is so unreal to all of us...what is this world coming to today. I pray that all will be safe in the Watertown & surounding communities today. Hugs to you my friend.

Your HM card to Joan will be much appreciated. Love your little designs on the cast.
Great hot air balloon card.
Tulips are such a beautiful color. If I had any they would still be under 6 inches of snow.

Curt, you are one of the most thoughtful people I know...always doing something kind for friends and neighbors. You rock, Mr. O'Brien! The boys are so festive in their finery, and that tulip in your pic of the week is gorgeous! Your yard must me like walking in a park! The cards are wonderful, as always. I'm with you, all I could do was watch in horror this week and even though I am releaved the brothers were found, it's still so much to process, those poor people in Boston and in Texas, wow.

Your card for Joan is so fabulous and perfect for her, she is going to love it.

I like having something new as a muse to motivate me to make a card too, love how you used your die.

Love your cards as alway Curt. It has been a very sad week, but the amazing spirit and the way the majority of people pull together and help and support each other far out way the the bad. That is what I try to focus on. It does my heart well to know there really is more good than evil in the word. I just pray that good can change the heart of evil.
Have a wonderful week,
Hugs,
Linda

Lovely cards as usual, That photo is just awesome! It is rapidly getting colder and colder over here and I am not looking forward to winter at all. I always feel a little depressed at winter time, I need the sunshine. to function at my peak!
The Boston marathon bombings has shaken all of us, I feel so sad that the world has come to this.
Lots of hugs from South Africa,

I always write too much on your blog but it's your falter....you do amazing, fun, and enlightening work...cards and photos so what is a gal to do....it can't go uncommented (gosh, that's a word). I know Joan's Garden and have been lucky enough to win once and buy some things. A lot of wonderful coloring going on. A house mouse stamp got me hooked on cards years ago and the rest is history. I'm late commenting...was at the beach for some rest and then those horrible events happened. The flower....devine....great photographer and card designer. Have a wonderful weekend Curt!
