BLOG CANDY TIME AGAIN!!!

Hey All! Wow, has this been a week for blog candy! Sharon at No Time to Stamp has been celebrating her 1 year Blogaversary and has had several give aways (some still going on so head on over!) and then there are others that you will learn are helping the celebration with blog candy of their own! So I guess mine is right on time, huh? I'm celebrating my blog going over the 5,000 mark! And it's all because of you! So to say thanks for being so loyal and coming to see me, I'm giving away some more blog candy. And I think it is pretty good blog candy too! But first to the card. . .

Yes, it is another Halloween card. . .When I was cruising around Splitcoast a couple of weeks ago, I saw the stamp I used on today's card for the first time. It was one of those moments when you say "I have to have that stamp!!!!" It is a Stampin Up stamp, and I don't know anyone locally who sells Stampin Up. So I saw my good friend Tammy Hershberger online and asked her if she knew anyone. Sure enough she did and she hooked me up. So here's the card. . .

How cute are these guys?!?!?! I LOVE EM!!! This stamp is called Tableau of Terror and comes with the main stamp and the sentiment stamp. Don't forget to click on the pictures to get more detail. This one was so much fun to color. The stamp itself is just the characters. I added the moon background. Take a look at the picture of them close up below:

I can't think of any stamp that I'm more fond of! Every time I look at it I just smile from ear to ear. They are so adorable. Can't you just see opening your door on Halloween to see this group standing there? LOL I used colored pencils to color the image, drew the moon on the same paper, cut the image out and matted it on standard card stock. The paper is from The Paper Company (I think). I used my corner rounder on one of the mats, and used orange brads from Making Memories. I then mounted the whole thing with foam squares on both the mat and the image. I then mounted the sentiment with black embossed photo corners, added some orange crystals, and done! Here is another close up of the sentiment detail:

If you go to Splitcoast and search for "Tableau of Terror", you'll be able to see a few other creations made with this set. It is so new, there aren't that many out there yet. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the card.

Now, on to the BLOG CANDY! Here's what's up for grabs:

A set of 16 botanical stamps from See Ds! I LOVE this set! I can't believe the quality of the stamps. You'll also get the ribbon box shown up there (ribbon not included - I put it in there for display purpose). Ribbon comes out on both sides and it's great to organize the ribbon you use the most. You'll also receive a stamp set from Inkadinkado up there on the bottom right of the photo. I have all of the stamps in this series, and I love them. You will be seeing some upcoming cards in the near future that I made using this series. You'll also receive a package of Karen Foster's Boot Loopy brads. There are 40 pieces in the package and it comes with scrapper's floss. All items are brand new and purchased for this give away.

Here's what you need to do: Leave a comment for this post. In the post, tell me what your favorite Halloween character is. From all of the posts, I will use the Random site to choose a winner. There person who falls out 13Th on the list will be the lucky winner. You will have until Monday, September 15Th at 11:59 PM Eastern to enter your comment. I'll post the winner on Tuesday the 16Th.

That's it for this post! Thanks again so much for all the nice comments from the last post and for taking the time to go vote for me. You are all terrific, and I so appreciate your support. Don't forget to look at the picture of the week below! I'll see you all on your blogs!

Best,

Curt O'Brien

As soon as I got my catty, I flipped right to the halloween stuff. Halloween is the only holiday I really celebrate anymore. I give out comic books and playdough and erasers and cool stuff. I even dress up the dogs.So this stamp went right to the top of my list-in fact, only two sets made the list both Halloween.

My favorite halloween character-the Witch of course-I have so many stamps of them and my blog icon is of course the Witchy Woman. My daughter collected books about witches when she was little (I still have them all) and her favorite was The Worst Witch -and it was made into a tv show for kids http://tinyurl.com/59eyme and the actress then went on to be in my favorite adult witch movie The Craft! I am not a real witch but I know one!

NOw if you should pull my number, since I already have that stamp set and a box almost like that ribbon one (mine has numbers on it) I get to chose the person for you to Rak it to, okay? I have a lucky number too. (btw my hubby the sofa slug was 13 on friday the 13th--we almost got married on that day too, but eloped on the 11th instead). I am off to bed at almost 4 AM-slug is coming home from visiting his sisters in Iowa in the afternoon-I need to send him somewhere else for a couple more weeks-I get more done when he is gone-and I want to rip out the bar and build in a book case for my vegetarian cookbooks collection. Have a nice weekend.

I love that stamp!!!! That is one of my favorites, too!! But, my favorite Halloween character is probably Frankenstein. When I was young, I used to create a frankenstein puppet out of cardboard (not too fancy, mind you) and have little plays for my friends. Weird, huh? and the old Frankenstein movie is the first horror movie I remember watching...but I am old, you know...thanks for the giveaway! Very generous! and I love the picture of the week!

Very cute, I love Frankenstein, there's something about him that's so cute, that would be a site to see them all at my door .... I love the way you added the moon, it really adds that special something to the card, as always Curt you did a wonderful job!

When I was little, I had always wanted to dress up as a Witch and go Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood - my parents hated Halloween! So they never let me - I always had to be something sweet and cute and only go to our neighbors houses, lol... WITCH! I love the diversity of a Witch - with their black cats, brooms, cauldrons AND all the Hocus-Pocus they can do!

That is a great stamp! I am so glad you got it...your card is fabulous! Okay, my favorite, hands down, is the vampire. Throughout history he has been villianized and glorified and he still holds my fascination! And for the record and I'm not talking about not Vlad the Impaler/Dracul from Transylvania...I'm talking sexy Dracula, like in the movies, okay?

Love the dog and the duck too! (Hey, that was a bar I used to go to!) I love that big mush noggle with his tiny duckie!

I love the new photo of your pups! They are just too cute!

I'm more of a "cutesy" Halloween fan rather than a scary one. So I love Linus from the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Such innocent faith and determination! (Reminds me of my 2 little boys!)

Love all your cards...you are so creative! Thanks for sharing!

OMGosh, Curt! That stamp is fabulous! I'm so glad Anita was able to hook you up with that. Your card is fabulous! I LOVE Dracula's red eyes! Great detail!

I can't really think of a favorite Halloween character, but I think what really sticks in my mind is the Dalmation costume I made for my daughter 15 years ago for Halloween. She was so dang cute in that thing! The tail swung back and forth when she walked with her little 13 month old legs! Out of all the costumes I've made for my girls through the years, that has to be my favorite. And yes, I still have it. Hopefully someday one of my grandchildren will wear it!

Congrats on the 5000 posts! Your blog is successful because you're so sweet and kind to so many people! We can't help but keep coming back! :)

Halloween is my absolute favourite holiday!!! I think it should be
"declared an official holiday", complete with the day off for everyone!! Dressing up, handing out candy to all the little ghouls and goblins is the best! I will let you in on a little secret....I trick or treated all the way up until I went away to college!! Sshhhh...don't tell anyone, if I didn't love halloween so much, I just might be embarrassed about that! LOL
Aren't the halloween stamps great?? I LOVE them all!!! I am partial to witches though! LOL
Thanks for the opportunity to win some "candy"....

Wow!!! Great job on that card. I was gonna pass on that SU set, but, now I MUST have it! All your cards are awesome and I really enjoy your photography as well. As far as fave Halloween Character, I guess I'd have to go with the witch. It's so traditional. I like 'em all, scary, cutesy etc. I also love the way my son's ET costume came out, when I made it back in the 70's. Thanks for sharing all your talents. Jean ~

Wow, Curt those spooky guys sure look amazingly boo-ti-ful on your card. I love the design. I love Halloween (one week after my b-day) and I have actually dedicated a scrapbook just to HALLOWEEN. I am just getting into making my Halloween cards this weekend.

Now my favourite Halloween character is Frankenstein..I dressed my oldest up as Frankie years ago and he was great. I went around calling him my (ahem..with my NJ accent) My cousin Frankie from New Jersey.

Frankenstein is such a tortured soul and I just feel for the underdog. LOL>

Thanks for the chance to win.

Your doggies are adorable and I love the photography on your site as well as your creative cards.

Have a super weekend,
Bela

Another fantastic card Curt, you find the most amazing stamps and then make them even more amazing with your translation onto a card, it does make you smile the more you look at it, doesn't it.

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog - DGD is growing up way too fast...

Now to my favourite Hallowe'en character - it has to be the ghost - whoooooo - it's what Hallowe'en is all about.

It always reminds me of the film ET - when they are going out with ET in the sheet and he says "READY". Still makes me laugh thinking about it.

Love ya xx
